Safe Deposit Scotland
SafeDeposits Scotland is Scotland’s leading tenancy deposit scheme, which has attracted approximately 60% of the market. They aim to help make compliance with deposit regulations as quick and easy as possible.
A landlord may face a penalty via the ‘Housing and Property Chamber First-tier Tribunal for Scotland’ (https://www.housingandpropertychamber.scot/) if they (or their agent) do not protect a deposit or provide the necessary key information to their tenants. The First-tier Tribunal may order a landlord to pay the tenant up to three times the amount of the deposit.
